We have so much proof now of survival and the afterlife from our journeys into the Spirit World during OBEs, NDEs and dreams, and from communications from the so-called spirits of the dead living there, that we really don't have to look further. This is why some Spiritualists are content to stop there, and not consider the evidence of survival coming to us from past lives. So as not to upset those believing in one life only on earth for the soul, I just want to let readers know that this article and some to follow will look at the evidence of the Spirit World from the point of view of Reincarnation, studying the work of Brian Weiss, Bruce Goldberg, Susan Wambach, Jenny Cockell, Phyllis Atwater, Brian Stevenson, Jane Roberts, the "Michael" teachings, and many other sources.
In addition to this proof of spirit intelligence from the other side helping us with our lives, we also have the spirit doctors who assist our healing mediums in curing their patients. There is no doubt that these surgeons have survived death, as will all of us, and are continuing to exist in the Spirit World, from where they assist mediums and psychic surgeons like Arigo in their work. These doctors have even been recognised and identified by former patients when visiting the medium, and several cases of this happening have been documented in the practices of Tom Pilgrim and George Chapman.
Other indications that spirit intelligence is all around us is shown by poltergeist activity, apports and dramatic premonitions and rescue work where terrible accidents are avoided with help from the other side, which cannot be explained rationally by science.
This is not the place to look at all the proofs, since we are focussing here on the World Beyond. So, when we look at the case studies of past-life regressionists, we find quite a lot of information given by clients about the Spirit World as they desribe what happens to them between lives.
One such regressionist is Michael Newton. In his second book "Destiny of Souls" he tells how in a segment of the television series "Sightings" produced by actor Henry Winkler and Paramount in 1995, one of his clients described how after her death in a past life she returned to the spirit world to find a spectacular seventeenth-century full dress ball in progress. She saw over a hundred people who came to celebrate her return. A time and place she had loved was lavishly reproduced so she could begin the next stage of her spiritual journey between lives.
Michael Newton comments that the return to the spirit world between lives can take place in one of two ways. In one instance, a few souls might briefly meet the new arrival, and then a guide would take them immediately to their appropriate level for further training and orientation. Alternatively, and more commonly, the soul will be allowed to take its time in adjusting to the spirit world, resting or even being attended in a hospital, then finding a comfortable location for a more permanent home, cottage or apartment. From there they may eventually join a group, visit a temple, or visit a library, concert or lecture hall. Other souls with whom they have been associated in past lives may come to greet them.
The soul's rate of progress depends on it's own efforts. Newton remarks that "Simply because a soul has been incarnating on Earth since the Stone Age is no guarantee of high attainment. In my lectures I often remark abvout a client who took 4,000 years of past lives finally to conquer jealousy. I can report he is not a jealous person today, yet he has made little progress with fighting his own intolerance."
Newton has also found that colours which his regression clients describe in the Spirit World indicate their level of advancement. White denotes a younger soul, while other colours as found in the chakras and the aura develop more fully with more experienced and mature souls. All his clients believe they have had a multitude of choices in their past, which will continue in their future lives. They see integrity and personal freedom everywhere in their stay in the Spirit World between lives. They are not forced to reincarnate, or join their soul group if they prefer solitude. A great deal about the Spirit World may be gleaned from the 67 case stuidies presented by Michael Newton in "Destiny of Souls," Llewellyn Publications, 2000. More information is to be found in his first book, "Journey of Souls." 1994.
